On October 14, 2025 I attended the Town Council meeting to express my concern over, what I called the secret installation of Flock Safety ALPR cameras. I passed out a packet of information to each of the seven members present. The packet contained numerous newspaper articles from other places where there is public push-back against the Flock cameras, as well as a link to a video by Ben Jordan that explains how the system works. I asked the Town Council to look through the packet and to consider ending the contract with Flock Safety.
I had spoken to a number of residents, none of who had the slightest idea that these cameras existed. When informed, they were outraged. In fact, I have yet to find anyone who learned of the existence of the cameras, or the planned installation through 'official' town communications.
I hoped to get my comments on the meeting video so that viewers would learn that these cameras had been installed and were capturing information about every vehicle entering or leaving town. The meeting video for 10/14/25 was never posted due to technical difficulties. The minutes for the meeting did not include very many of the points that I made. This is what I said.
